Scott McFarlane

Criminal Justice Relationship/Interaction Consultant

Scott McFarlane has more than 25 years of experience as a law enforcement officer, with specialized expertise as a narcotics investigator and over a decade serving as a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) member. For the past five years, Scott has been part of local Stepping Up Initiatives, a national program designed to reduce the number of people with mental illness in jails.  In addition, he has been a participant in both drug courts and mental health courts and has worked to identify incarcerated individuals living with mental illness, in order to improve their access to care.  Scott comes to MTM after most recently serving as Master Deputy in the Pitt County (North Carolina) Sheriff’s Office. He brings this experience to MTM, where he helps enhance collaborations between law enforcement and behavioral health providers to implement appropriate prevention and diversion strategies.
